while Hary Jackson is in no was a bishop...at least to me (all of his trainign is business training I believe...though one could argue that by going in the church, he is following his MBA bliss)

This whole thing with black folks and acknowledging us by the titles that we earn is a very very big issue with black folks.

remember, mainstream blacks that might have become a bishop back in the day through the usual channels may not have have that chance.

anyone like Harry, who manipulates people's vulnerabilities for his own ends.

as much as I detest people who use honorary doctorate titles for ill (looking at you, Alveda King).

But white people (liberal and conservative) have a very, very bad habit of not addressing black folks with the proper title that they earned.

Some of it is non-intentional in that that white people sometimers lke to drop the titles when conferring with those they consider to be peers.

But a lot of it is also disrespect. After all, how many blacks back in the day could even get into an "apostolic line of sucession?"

    •  I can give you good news though: (0+ / 0-)

      PRESIDENT Barack Obama.

Even as a white guy I love the way that sounds. (And I love the way it makes teabuggerers flinch as if I had just sworn at them in Russian.)

And God said, "Let there be light"; and with a Big Bang, there was light. And God said "Ow! Ow My eyes!" and in a flash God separated light from darkness. "Whew! Now that's better. Now where was I. Oh yea . . ."
