    ...the preacher in the too-small three-piece suit who stands with a Bible in Monument Square and yells out various verses while simultaneously condemning the usual sinner suspects at the top of his lungs.  In some ways it's almost quaint.  Loud and obnoxious and totally wrong, but quaint.

      I'm from the NY metro area and remember the Viking who used to sit outside the CBS Studios.  Now, that was quaint.

      At least there's only one of those preachers in Monument Square.  In Times Square there is often an entire battalion.

      Hmmm ... seems to me my sister and I saw a group of three or four young men around Congress & High a month or so ago who were intent on convincing the passersby they were on the road to perdition.  The passersby, that is, not the young men.  Enough to make an Episcopalian and a Unitarian Universalist cross over to the other side of the street.
