    for some people.  I recall your diary and it only adds to my sense of ambivalence.  I live in a safe neighborhood (by my estimation) and my guns are locked in a safe - essentially unavailable to me in the context of a intruder-with-bad-intent scenario.

    •  Since I wrote that my daughter had a burglary (3+ / 0-)

      at home. They broke in and stole things from the garage as she, her husband and infant son were asleep in the house. There have been two home invasions with violence by an armed gang in a nearby wealthy enclave, and I could go on.
