  •  That's not the answer they gave. (3+ / 0-)

    They shouted, "The Second Amendment."

That is not answering his question as to why they need an AR-15, military-style weapon with a high-capacity clip.

It's not a matter of agreeing or disagreeing with their answer. They avoided his question completely so they could answer a question they wanted to answer (repeated erroneously by this diarist in his first stab at this) which was, "Why should anyone be allowed to own this weapon."

    That was never the question.

    •  I know what the question was (3+ / 0-)

If you think the 2nd amendment was designed to allow citizens to protect themselves from the government, you may think you need the firepower an AR-15 gives you.

Regardless, THE ANSWER DOES NOT HAVE TO BE CORRECT IN ORDER TO BE CLASSIFIED AS AN ANSWER.

But I don't care about their bullshit arguments.  I'm upset because the disconnect between what people were saying about this video and what was actually on the video was way to big for my taste.

Dude asked a question, he got a response. The guy in charge told the 2nd amendment guys to be quiet and they stopped.

The way people were making it sound, a bunch of loudmouths had stormed the hearing room and started giving everyone their unsolicited opinions and shouting down the man while he testified.

There is truth on all sides. The question is how much.
