But that's what happens when you cede an entire state to the anti-government wing of the wingnuts.  Starting with Ray Gun.

Seriously, you and the rest of Californians have my sympathy.  When the economy imploded, an old friend of mine offered to move me to the Bay Area...I turned her down, mostly b/c I had a job here in PA and the unemployment numbers were better here than there.

So I love the state, and the Bay Area, but loathe what y'all've elected over my adult lifetime...and even during my childhood.

To make the argument that the media has a left- or right-wing, or a liberal or a conservative bias, is like asking if the problem with Al-Qaeda is do they use too much oil in their hummus. Al Franken

After years of red ink, Gov. Jerry Brown said on Thursday that California’s $96.7-billion general fund is now poised to end next year with a surplus, thanks to years of deep budget cuts and billions in new taxes approved by voters last year.

"We achieved the position we're in because of tough cuts ... and then the people voted for taxes," he said. "We broke the logjam by going to the people."
