  •  My Dad is in a retirement community (15+ / 0-)

in Tuscon, and as a die-hard Democrat from Texas living with a native Democrat from Arizona, does his part to fight back against the radical conservatives. All the way from volunteering at the polling places to dealing with the TPers in his community.

He thought at first that the snowbirds from Yankee territory and Canada would be more liberal, but found out otherwise (at least the majority that he's met). So now he's doubling down, doing what he can, and giving the TPers the five fingered salute (a wide open hand wave - it's not one wave, it's five single-finger salutes).

    •  What actually is "Yankee territory"? I consider (2+ / 0-)

Yankees to be from New England and NY.  Lots of those folks in those Tuscon retirement communities seem to be from Ohio, Illinois and other parts of the Mid-West, areas that true Yankees do not consider to be Yankeedom in any way, shape or form.

Any point north of the Mason Dixon line is Yankee territory. I remember some incidents when he worked in NYC for a few years - he was the walking embodiment of McCloud.
