    for folks who can't afford hearing aids.  This NLAA link is a good place to start.

    I also have tinnitus along with hearing loss.  When I'm wearing my hearing aids, the tinnitus pretty much goes away.  Aids out; the ears still ring.

    Most insurance plans won't cover hearing aids for hearing impairment; hell, even an exam by an audiologist is typically not covered (or covered but with a hefty specialist co-pay).

    Check the NLAA link above if you need financial assistance with getting a hearing aid.  My aids aren't perfect, but when I first got them, it was amazing to me what I wasn't hearing previously.
