I'm still unsure why gun safety is a "debatable" issue. Perhaps because it's been tagged as gun control, when it's not. Or maybe it's because we've given too much government control to groups like the NRA whose main concern is not human lives.

Whatever it is, I don't understand why there is debate. Look at Gabby Giffords. look at Malcolm X or the Kennedy brothers or Martin Luther King, Jr. or John Lennon or the countless lives lost EVERY DAY that we do not hear about.

The NRA doesn't get a say when their answer is more of the same. If more guns equaled more safety, we'd be the safest frickin place on earth.

    Strange but not a stranger.

We should be saying "Gun Saftey Laws" and the firearms in question should be labled "kid killers."

actually led to more birth safety that would be a good thing.

But the other side sees more gun control as loss of gun power. Really, we need some kind of public awareness campaign, "Come on boys! CONTROL your damn guns, so the Gubmint doesn't have to!"

Instead we get whining and crying and braying at the moon, about how essential more and better guns are for the nation, for anyone who wants them.

We can pass a 2.3% excise tax on medical devices, (which most people can not buy or harm others with), but we can't pass a 2.3% excise tax on gun sales to help pay for the medical needs of those who suffer the gun accidents?

And if an armed society was a polite society, would the American society be getting MORE polite, instead of less so, as there are more and more armed people walking around everywhere?
