  •  I took some frangibles to the range and tried it (0+ / 0-)

myself.  Seemed to be OK--no jams in the four mags I shot through it.

The problem isn't with the magazine or spring, it's with the feed ramp, and it's a problem that only happens with the InterArms version of the PPK made in the US about 20 years ago under license.  For some oddball reason, InterArms put a little ridge across the feeding ramp, which isn't there in any of the other versions of the PPK. On a round-nose FMJ, it's no problem, but with any flat-nosed round, like a hollow-point, it's common for the flat edge to get caught on that little ridge, and jam. Even some jacketed bullets with slightly flattened noses, jam too.

I used the frangible rounds with the little blue ball in the nose, and they seem to work OK.

For ordinary target shooting I use round-nose FMJs. They work fine.

    •  Have you concidered polishing the ramp? (0+ / 0-)

If I ever wanted to do anything with my SIG P6 other than punch paper, I would buy 100 rounds of my choice defense ammunition and confirmed that it feed and fired reliably before trusting my life to it.  It also would get a feed ramp polish if needed.

It's not really a self-defense gun, and I'm not all that paranoid about any need for self-defense. It's a target gun.

        •  since it uses .380 you are right about it (1+ / 0-)

being a target pistol, not a self-defense gun. It's a weapon of last resort, not really suitable for self defense. It is an interesting weapon however and has that James Bond cachet.
