  •  Tracking the longer lunar cycle (5+ / 0-)

is interesting and was done in other parts of the world, including Babylon.

There are a number of observatories outside of Chaco which provide us with more information about ancient astronomy. In addition, some of the New England chambers, such as the one in Upton, Massachusetts, appear to have been constructed to make solar observations.

if you, in your many and wonderful diaries, have written on this theme? I am aware of how archeoastronomy was in fact a widely spread theme among Native American cultures, and same with the Chinese and South American people (not so in Europe, obviously). I may be tempted to work up a diary on the more universal theme, but my main focus these days is promoting the Colorado Plateau's featured assets and discoveries, since this is the place I know best. Still, I recognize some of the names you just mentioned, and if, again, have not done a writeup on these other places, I would be interested in tackling a wider-scale presence of minds given this universal theme. And are you familiar with the term "Biological time," and how ancient cultures all over the world especially favored the lunar cycle for hunting and fishing? Thanks for the reply, by the way. Most kind.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
