I doubt anyone will dare heckle those children.
You've never listened to Rush Limbaugh, have you?

I could give a rat's ass what Ruch Limbaugh says, but if he isn't at the Super Bowl shouting at these kids, whatever he says on his hate talk  radio program doesn't qualify as heckling.

      •  I hope you're right about the meaning (5+ / 0-)

        of having the kids sing.

I'm much more cynical-- that this is a way to show the country "cares", and then we can all move on with business as usual (meaning, in this case, a shrug about the unfortunate human collateral of gun violence).

And there will be plenty of folks complaining about this-- just as they went after Costas for talking about the KC Chief who murdered his girlfriend (which was the big gun story prior to Newtown, remember?) They won't heckle the kids or their families, but I suspect social media, message boards, etc will be alight with the righteous outrage of the gun absolutists and the football purists for the NFL daring to intrude upon the Super Bowl this way.

But I'd be delighted to be proved wrong!!

      •  Lots of vocal gun owners at the SuperBowl (0+ / 0-)

        Now that you mention it....

Lots of proud and vocal gun owners attend the SuperBowl, and drink heavily before and during the game.

The right-wing has no qualms at all about heckling the president in the halls of congress during a constituionally-mandated address.

The father of one slain child was heckled while addressing his state legislature on the issue of gun regulations.

I can easily see the beer-soaked gun enthusiasts at the
SuperBowl loudly expressing ther displeasure at the assembly of kids from Newtown.
