    It's sure to be equally popular now. And the big guys would just figure out new types of smuggling / tax evasion.

      The 1765 argument wasn't really about taxes; it was about self-government. In addition, the "big guys" already evade taxes, but more because the 76,000 pages of the tax code are full of loopholes and hidden subsidies. Sales taxes are just not avoidable.
