    Of course they won't. Kind of goes with the definition of criminal. What people who use that argument like to overlook is that a criminal who has not followed the law becomes subject to legal consequence for merely having the gun. Doesn't have to shoot somebody with it. Doesn't have to wave it around and threaten anybody. Just having it. Which provides an opportunity to separate him from his gun before he does damage to anybody (else).

        Against the laws to have an open container of alcohol in the vehilce - even if you aren't drinking, or drunk. But such laws presumably prevent some number of DUI incidents.
