  •  His apology was obviously written by his teacher. (14+ / 0-)

Or his lawyer. Or someone. I mean, how could:

No, we don't got no gay people on the team, they gotta get up out of here if they do. Can't be with that sweet stuff.
The derogatory comments I made yesterday were a reflection of thoughts in my head, but they are not how I feel. It has taken me seeing them in print to realize that they are hurtful and ugly. Those discriminating feelings are truly not in my heart. Further, I apologize to those who I have hurt and offended, and I pledge to learn and grow from this experience.
come out of the same mouth, otherwise?

    •  I was just thinking the exact same thing. (4+ / 0-)

His verbal comments were barely coherent for crying out loud. Those "thoughts in his head" don't exactly translate to the thoughts represented on the released statement.

    •  It's that problem of cognitive dissonance. (4+ / 0-)

The ability to hold two contradictory concepts as true at the same time, even when confronted.

Culliver at least has the excuse of only being 24, has another year to finish the development of the upper cortexes. Higher executive function - like accurately calculating the consequences of an action. May need an extension.

The Jagoff High School coach in Alabama passed 25 awhile back. Nothing but gray on his noodle. What can you say about a guy who derides one of the most respected and loved first ladies? FAIL Then throws vitriol at LGBT folks? FIRE
