    the most common sniper rifle is the same Remington 700 that I and a  gazzillion hunters have, five shots including chamber.

    A big step up in price and about as accurate are the 308s that have detachable boxe mags of 20 (I think) rounds.

    I don't know how many those big 50s hold, not much interest in reading about sniper rifles.

    The 700 is  a bolt gun. Bolts have many fewer parts, easier to clean.
