means I get to shoot any government employee I don't like

Because the laws don't matter - only my gun

    •  Another common thread I keep seeing amongst (4+ / 0-)

these Freedum Fighters is that the only reason the police and military want more powerful weapons than THEY THE PEOPLE is to suppress the patriots and allow this so-called government tyranny.  I saw signs to this effect a couple weeks ago at the keep-your-hands-off-our-guns fest in front of the Ohio Statehouse.

Now, I'll be the first to admit that I thought a whole lot of tiny little villages and towns across rural Real America went WAY over the top with their post-9/11 anti-terrist funding jackpots -- some of these podunk sheriffs could easily fight a 3rd-world war -- but now I'm thinking they may have been onto something.

    •  What it means (9+ / 0-)

What they mean is that they are claiming treason is protected by the second amendment (of course, it clearly isn't) The militia is subordinate to the state and federal government, it is not a force for the overthrow of the government.

We hear Republicans talking about "second amendment" options, that if you don't like the law, you get to change it with your gun.

been done.  Always some crazy person hating on the tyranny.

And government over-reach does exist, but the way to address that is through lawsuits, civil demonstrations and electing different people.

Armed insurrection is treason. Flat out treason.  And that is what too many of these unbalanced folks advocate.
