  •  This kind of gun hubris is becoming commonplace (10+ / 0-)

Just about a year ago, while the nation was still wrapping its collective head around the tragic murder of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin by vigilante neighborhood watchman George Zimmerman in Florida, a similar shooting death occurred in the small Wisconsin town of Slinger when another minority youth, Bo Morrison, was shot to death by a homeowner after the young man was chased out of a garage drinking party by a neighbor. Worse, the shooter was not charged, based on Wisconsin's new, GOP-driven "castle doctrine" law. The kid was on his property, and that's all the mattered in the eyes of authorities. What a country. I wouldn't want to be any kind of door to door salesman or a census worker or even someone from the neighborhood Welcome Wagon under these absurd standards.
