    The Globe and Mail had an article today about the suffering of women in Timbuktu, Mali under the rebels.  Rapert and his ilk are different from the rebels quantitatively but not qualitatively.  Same motivation, including the religious excuses.

      That makes the most sense. A hatred of girls/women with an accompanying sadistic glee at seeing them suffer and die.

      After all, in the right wing religious mind, females are the cause of all the suffering in the world, so if the men could do without them they would.

      That's why these same men don't want women to get power. The first place their minds go is that women will get rid of men if they could, just like they would like to get rid of women. It's sad, really, in that they don't realize just what they are missing, but very scary and infuriating at the same time.
