    variation on a theme.  Read  U.S. history from post-Civil War Reconsruction--starting about the time of the appearance of the "Redeemers" all the way to the crash of 1929.  A lot of it will seem very familiar.

      I also read the history. While interesting to read what happens over a space of decades, we also have to be reminded that the catalyst to replace our economic foundation was a war that killed 60 million people that took  generations to recover from the gilded age all the away through and past WW11.  

      I don't have a generation. Neither does the other tens of millions of people like me.  History becomes abstract when every day is a struggle. Just because we didn't go toes up in the past, doesn't mean it won't happen in the future.

      The very first hint that huge structural damage has occurred is when people working for a central govt average far more pay  than people working in the private sector.
