    Anytime there is carbonation, you want seriously thick glass bottles.  I say this as someone who has never brewed her own beer but has read a lot about it.

    But beer...beer, the carbonation comes from the yeast.  And then you are talking Mother Nature deciding you didn't do a good enough job of controlling your carbonation, and just exploding those too-thin bottles.  This could happen with homemade sparkling wine, too.

    I don't think the same effect would come from putting some CO2 into a liquid.  We do it all the time at work: it's called the soda fountain.  It ain't natural, and it probably won't blow anything up.  Might make ya fart, though (giggle).

    Srsly, artificial carbonation like from a seltzer bottle won't blow up, afaik.  What nature does...all bets are off.
