  •  Have any of Obama's secretaries (0+ / 0-)

been allowed or have managed to do anything big and important on their own, or has it been a top-down, old-fashion corporate-style command presidency in that respect across the board? And if so, why did he pick so many big name, high-powered secretaries like Clinton, Chu and Sebelius, when all he really wanted was competent managers who wouldn't talk back? For the PR effect, no doubt. Perhaps also for the ego gratification? What a waste of talent.

And yes, I do hate Obama, obviously, like you can't imagine, with the burning heat of a thousand suns, or at least my toaster oven set to broil, because that's the unavoidable conclusion when one says anything critical of him.

    •  I wonder too. (0+ / 0-)

He loves Lincoln and mentioned the Team of Rivals book that portrays Lincoln governing with a strong cabinet. I posted a diary about some of the great things Ray LaHood did at transportation. There have been big changes at Interior and Defense. It's hard to imagine Obama managing it all himself, but we'll probably never know until he's out of office.

      •  I think the Cabinet Secretaries probably did (0+ / 0-)

a lot of good things, to the extent possible in this political climate, that no one ever heard of. Because, ya know, the msm has so much more other stuff to cover ;)

Your diary on LaHood is an example of what I'm saying, and I thank you for posting it.

the guy is trying much harder then you are.

This is why Steven Chu decided to stay out of the public eye. First it was the Solyndra and then the idiots attacked:

      Would you want this job?
