  •  The NRA cares about everyday gun owners (10+ / 0-)

the way that Big Tobacco cares about smokers, or Ralph Reed cares about peoples' souls and saving them for anything but his bottom line.

Why is it so easy to fool people on the right?

Because they're mostly stupid, ignorant and unsophisticated peasants and base their political loyalty on race and culture, not policy and outcomes.

And yes, this is absolutely an elitist and condescending comment. To which my response would be "So what?". This country was founded and made better by elites, not stupid peasants who couldn't tell their assholes from their pieholes. I'm not running for office or trying to appeal to these idjuts, who don't read blogs like these and mostly don't even know what a blog is.

I'm talking about the mouthbreathers who probably DO need an assault rifle to take down a deer, not serious and responsible hunters (many of who probably don't like today's NRA) who know that guns don't make us free.

Absolutist to me means wanting to ban pretty much all guns with no input from gun owners. That's easily a very, very minority position these days.
