  •  I'm back in Georgia again. (8+ / 0-)

Yesterday, on the way home, I wasn't sure whether I'd drive the entire distance from Louisiana, or split the trip into two days.

During the daylight hours, I toured some of the timberlands that I managed in a previous lifetime, and then drove a portion of the Natchez Trace Parkway. Both events will probably be turned into diaries or buckets soon.

Several deer attempted suicide at dusk along the Trace. I successfully eluded all of them.

Once I hit I-20 in Jackson, MS, I decided that two weeks of staying in motels was enough. I kept driving until I reached home, at 2:30 in the morning. 709 miles of driving!

Overnight was one of the coldest nights of the year in Macon, with a low of around 20. This afternoon it warmed to the upper 50s.
