  •  Great diary! (17+ / 0-)

When I got my stent, the nurse had to threaten to tie me down not long after I woke up. Wanted to get right up. Amazing what oxygenated blood will do for energy level.

I did my heart attack in a doctor's office. Had no insurance, so rode out unstable angina for about a week, and went in the morning it got stable. That bypassed the ER, thanks to the wonderful rescue squad guy who, when the Dr. told them to take me to a local hospital, said "Dr. Holly, thay cain't do nuttin fur her at Wiffle, I'mma call the chopper!"  So I rode the bird down to a good cardiac place, stuffed full of morphine.

Once there, every other sentence I spoke was "I have no insurance". They got a patient advocate to come in and assure me that she'd see me after surgery. She set me up to get financial aid.

    Bless them all!

btw, I do not recommend doing what I did, riding out the unstable angina. I could have dropped dead at any time. Artery was 100% blocked.

Only thing more infuriating than an ignorant man is one who tries to make others ignorant for his own gain. Crashing Vor
