Like you, mild acid indegestion my only symptom. 60,  athletic, non-smoker though.  I went to VA Urgent Care, told them my story, they did a Troponin blood test. It was high; they called an ambulance and sent me to hospital ER.

More tests. I was #1 in the Cath Lab the next morning. I had three blockages (90%, 99%, and 100%), they put in four stents. Telemetry nurses gave terrific care. I walked out 48hrs after my MI attack.

I felt 110% by day 3, I was golfing after 7. After 3mos I had lost ten lbs from eating healthy choices without even trying. My cardiologist says my heart made a 100% full recovery. My LDL is now below 70 thanks in part to Simistatin and good foods. BP runs 114/66.

I am very fortunate to have completely returned to my baseline.

I concur with all of the healthy advice you state in your diary. My experience has had a positive impact on my wife and close friends. Everyone knows they need to eat healthier and try to lose ten lbs.

It takes self discipline to make the lifestyle choices. It's better to get on a healthy regimen now when you are still relatively younger, than wait until your mid 60's and risk a stroke or bypass surgery.

I have suggestions for better eating. Eat vegetables, fresh fruits, lean deli turkey, Greek yogurt, almonds. These foods you can have as much as you want.

Avoid red meat. Candy. Pastries. Cut back on sugary foods as much as possible. Try not to drink soda pop. No more pthan one/day.

And listen to your body. Know that the symptoms of heart attack and stroke are. If you recognize a symptom, go immediately to Urgent Care and get it checked out. Believe me. The team of professionals who worked for me definitely saved my life!

Try to eat foods with less than 4 grams of saturated fat. Don't eat anything that has Transfat in it.

Get a blood test to see if you are pre-diabetic. You've got to get your blood sugar below 100. If it gets to 125, you will become diabetic and have major circulatory problems in your later years.
