Abdominal aortic aneurysms - I have one - are more common than ascending aortic aneurysms, so if you can't find out much about yours, research mine. If nothing else, start at the wikipedia article on thoracic aortic aneurysms (another name for what you have), and don't stop there.

See if there is any pharmacological treatment for your type of aneurysm. There is for mine, but the research supporting it is limited - I've talked two different doctors into supporting meds, though, and it seems to be slowing or stopping growth, which is a big deal with my type and postpones or avoids surgical repair. Your type may behave differently than my type.

A good place to start is this site. Notice that the box on the left side of the page has a scrollbar, and scroll down to the 'Narratives' section, or use this link.

The 'Narratives' section on that site contains dozens of stories of aneurysm experiences - many like yours - written by patients or their survivors. It'll simultaneously scare the shit out of you and give you tremendous hope. The second article in the list is about your type, as are a lot of others.

Modern revolutions have succeeded because of solidarity, not force.

I spent time at that website.  Some of the stories are about Ascending Aortic Aneurisms.  The site is informative and the words are from the patients and/or their families/friends.  It is an eye-opening experience to read these accounts.  Thank you so much.
