Watch the video posted above of this man explaining his views on guns and gun control. There is absolutely no need to be circumspect in acknowledging his viewpoints and the irony therein regarding his death. He believed what he believed and his murder doesn't change that nor does it diminish our responsibility to challenge those beliefs.

This guy's company was doing background checks for those wishing to carry guns in Texas schools. Gun advocates expect us to trust someone who couldn't even recognize that the guy standing two feet away was possibly unstable. It's exactly this kind of insanity and the expectation that we accept it that has lead us to the daily madness we face today.

    To hell with that.

It is necessary to speak the obvious truths about this death no matter how unkind they may be. At this stage of this "debate" we owe ourselves at least that much.

      win hearts and minds.

To put the torture behind us is, inevitably, to put it in front of us.

      •  What a crock of shit. (0+ / 0-)

There's a vast difference between dancing and speaking the truth. I haven't seen anyone take joy in this man's death. And even if someone does it shouldn't stop the conversation.

The mere suggestion that talking about what this man believed and what he stood for and the irony of his viewpoints in relation to his own murder at the hand of firearm is somehow the same as dancing on his grave is pathetic and lame. It's a disingenuous attempt to shut down the conversation and it doesn't belong on DKos.
