    so great if there were some sort of a clearinghouse that could vet and match up people with needs.  I didn't mean to refer specifically to KnotIookin, necessarily. I don't even know if she would have space for a boarder/part-time caretaker. But there are so many cases where people need a little help, and yet have much to offer others.  

    Being able to help another person is such a powerful way to fight one's own feelings of helplessness. Haven't you found that in your own life, llbear?

    The past 50 years we: -Ended Jim Crow. -Enacted the Voting Rights Act. -Attained reproductive rights (contraceptive & abortion). -Moved toward pay equity. Republicans want to take our country back. I WON'T GO BACK!

      Maybe I'm lucky but I have never given help to anyone that hasn't paid off to me in some other way.

      Those who fought the war in Afghanistan won it. Get them out of Afghanistan NOW . . . It's long past time. Those who want to wage the next war in Afghanistan are condemned to lose it.
