    but it appears that one dominant theme is that "private academies" have failed financially after almost 40 years of existence because enough of the public is not willing to pay enough to sustain them and they lack a sufficient secondary income stream, such as Catholic schools do, to survive.
    It has also become evident to private school advocates that vouchers alone will not save them financially.  Charter schools do represent another line of attack for private school advocates while also providing a cash cow in many cases for partners and cronies of various pols and well connected businessmen
