  •  we came home last night (18+ / 0-)

6 days and about an hour since we entered the hospital for what we thought would be a routine MRI.

She is resting in the hospital bed we installed in the room that has the tv, which has a separate bathroom with a shower right off it and which is next to the kitchen.   If she wants and has her back brace on, she can get up and do things for herself.

She cannot really be left alone, even with the back brace on, for at least another 10 days or so.  Two friends from my Quaker Meeting will split three hours of coverage tomorrow so I can get to a couple of dental appointments.  As it happens, I have known one for 50 years - he was my freshman roommate in Sept '63.

    Her spirits are good.

She has not yet read all the comments on my 6 diaries related to her although I have shared some.  Nor has she read the 300 some odd emails, the several dozen kos mails, or the several cards and letters that have come in.  That is something she will begin to do tomorrow.

Today we are cleaning and clearing - we are going through accumulations of stuff - old magazines, mail, papers, etc - and throwing out what we can to make the house less cluttered.  We are taking the piles of books that have accumulated in the dining room the room where she is and the living room and stacking them on the stairs.  When I saw "we" of course I am doing the physical work but we are going through things together.

There's a lot of stuff we thought we needed we now know we do not.   And to the trash and recycling it goes - so far 5 big paper backs and two kitchen-trash sized plastic bags.
