  •  as a child, i found the smell (4+ / 0-)

    of my farmer relatives' and rancher friends' pig pens to be a perfume. they weren't abundantly dirty, or muddy, or hot, or isolated from chicken-coop smells: they were just real. and who knows why: appealing.

    what smells have been removed by our dislike of them ?
    what smells carry more than one message, or may be vital to life ?

    or are we devolving to the creatures of "Eeeeeeeewwww."

      I really hate that crap, it gives me a headache.

      And LOTS of people use it to hide stuff.

      I always figure if something smells bad, it needs cleaning. Go figure.
