    Henry was determined to make certain that the Tudor line was secure and that the War of the Roses wouldn't restart. It's why he discarded both Catherine of Aragon and Ann Boleyn after all they gave him was daughters. He needed a legit son or else he figured the dynasty wouldn't be secure.

    Of course, the great irony is that his much desired son only ruled six years and died in his teens, why one of those unwanted daughters, Elizabeth, became the greatest ruler in England's history.
