  •  Guess I don't understand - (0+ / 0-)

unless you are forced to listen to it at work.  ????

I rarely have the TV on and the radio almost never because there is nothing on.  We specifically do not pay for cable, because we will not pay a cent to FAUX, etc.  Fortunately we can get PBS over the air, once Mr P got a home made antenna rigged up after the digital change.  Mr P likes David Letterman - I could care less.

Actually we are in the process of getting a new TV - we have a 25 yr old one that was my mothers, it replaced a 15 yr old one that was my aunt's. Now in our 60's we need a bigger screen than 20"!!!!   The one we are looking at has an energy star rating cost of $7. a yr - I imagine the older ones use much more.  Given that is based upon 5 hours a day, with us, the cost should be abt $4 a day.

We also have a refrigerator that is 37 yr old.  LOL!

I check on-line sites for weather and of course here and the on-line NYT for news.

    •  Not at work fortunately but anywhere out and (0+ / 0-)

about that it is playing full blast.  As for paying for cable, I do mainly because HugesNET is not suitable for Netflix with it's 150MB/day download cap and cellular also has a pretty low monthly cap.

You have watched Faux News, now lose 2d10 SAN.

at least the hate radio being on is fairly rare.  Faux News is far more common as you might expect though many places just use sports or game shows (if in the daytime) so at least it's not all Faux all the time like in some places.  Still happens enough for me to get one of those TV-B-Gones.
