I'm sure the US government would have given the same response to any inquiry in the 1960's as to the existence Project MKUltra (the existence of which is no longer a conspiracy or theoretical).

I think for reasons of national/global security alone, the feds would not confirm the existence of anything that might be on the par with, or completely eclipse the power and/or understanding and/or control of the human race or human weaponry.

I don't think they are lying in this case, but the answer would likely be the same if they were.

    •  This petition was fair, since there have been (0+ / 0-)

a lot of claims about suppressed alien evidence. However, I have studied and met many of the people involved with the Roswell claims first hand and I would have to characterize it as absolute, utter nonsense, made up by self-promoters and perpetuated by crazies.

Having said this, however, I think the existence of at least basic ET life is a certainty and advanced life is very likely as well.

I just wonder if limits will be place on future petitions: Such as ones asking if Elvis is alive or if the government is hiding evidence of bigfoot. I think there needs to be a line between free information and the kind of loony conspiracy theories that lead people to insists Obama was born in Kenya.

Just doing my part to piss off right wing nuts, one smart ass comment at a time.
