    With their explanation of the scale, that gives you a sense of how truly massive these things are.

    I have seen the Hubbard Glacier in Alaska from the comfort and safety of a cruise ship (comfort being relative, as it was a very cold and rainy day). Even Hubbard is on a massive scale, and with considerable frequency would calve off chunks. Mind you, these were chunks about the size of a small house, not the entirety of lower Manhattan.

    It's an incredible display of nature!
