    ... when there were no living muscles to pull it straighter. I suspect he had a deformity, but not as severe as those photos of the skeleton would indicate. He may have worn a brace, as well.

    But unless he could sit on a horse, how could he have been in the battle? I suppose he could have been in a litter with a cadre of armed men surrounding him. But what would be the point? The king rides into battle so his men can see him and be inspired to fight for him. If Richard were so disabled he couldn't sit on a horse, he'd be more inspiring off the battlefield.
