tried to make sure we never found out how scandalous our grandparent/great grand parents were.

Jazz, opium dens, cigarettes, cocaine, weed, short skirts, speakeasies, bathtub gin, roadsters, heavy petting.... the lavender boys were a staple of movies.  Mae West, in various stages of undress. The Roaring 20s roared!!!

The Depression ended the feeling of security and safety. The forces of prudery finally tamed the movies and kept them under the thumb of the Catholic Church well into the 60s.

With the changing technology, the ability to keep things secret is disappearing.  I highly recommend getting to know your ancestors.

Jesus died to save you from Yahweh.
