    to lose opportunities for which you are eminently qualified simply because a person transitions. I also have to say that there is a certain misogyny present in the world of piano performance. Men have long dominated the field and great female pianists, such as Martha Argerich, seem to have their brilliant performances given far harsher scrutiny by critics. I love her interpretation of Rachmaninoff 3rd Piano Concerto. However I remember one critic, his name escapes me now, saying she should not have attempted it because she didn't have the power required to play it properly. My critique of that critique? Bullpucky.
