    the young woman had a companion for the trip who had to back out at the last minute because of money problems.  I'm guessing she didn't have trip insurance, and didn't want to forfeit her plane ticket and any deposits, and decided to go thru with it alone.

    When my wife and I went to Turkey, she was the target of ardent advances and flattery numerous times when I was out of sight.

    Women alone are harassed in all Muslim countries, I believe, and while I agree with most of what you have said, would strongly recommend to them that they at least have a buddy as this woman originally planned to.

      Maybe there needs to be some information traded between tourism reps.

      I understand that some countries have gender specific dress codes, and I respect that. But most women travel with the expectation that local law enforcement and officials aren't going to turn a blind eye to jerks harassing the female tourists.

      They lose money that way.
