    But obviously the desire to have sound economic policy is not the only factor in determining policy recommendations. Not even the top one, unfortunately.

      ...a significantly reduced role in an emergency. Which is what this is.

          ...sound economic policies.  The one now says "Fuck the deficit.  Full speed ahead with job creation."

          That's the only one I'm interested in.

            Sound anything policy is complex, adaptive and comprehensive. Recall Keynes' advice to run deficits during recessions and pay them down during booms. I see no contradiction there at all. Different conditions call for different solutions.
