  •  Ed Markey himself has nothing to say on the... (0+ / 0-)

...the subject of climate change because he hates - with the absolute irrationality of the set of people who agree with him - the world's largest, by far, source of climate gas change free primary industrial energy, that being nuclear energy.

Nuclear power has easily produced, for the last 30 years, more energy than all the solar, geothermal and wind plants in the world combined, despite much silly rhetoric from Markey and his allies about how nuclear energy is "dangerous, even if they really can't identify as many dead people from the use of nuclear energy in its entire history as an industrially mature source of energy as will die today from air pollution.

And how many people will die today from air pollution?

The World Health Organization reports that 3.3 million people die each year from it - half under the age of five - and if you look into the epidemiological science behind this calculation you understand that WHO is being conservative with this estimate.   That's about 9,000 per day, 377 an hour, six to seven a minute, one every 9 or 10 seconds.

But Ed Markey says nuclear energy is "dangerous."

People with small brains should not try to operate big mouths.

Markey's rhetoric is faith based and dogmatic.   He doesn't care about climate change so much as he cares to call out into his own echo chamber.

    Have a nice evening.

    •  You're really big on the nuclear cult (0+ / 0-)

of hating on renewables and pretending like they can never work, aren't you?

Of course, we can build alternate energy sources just as fast as we can build nuclear, and there's no nuclear waste to deal with.  Not that you have a plan for dealing with waste either, other than hiding it.

      •  I'm really big into the SCIENCE of Seaborg... (0+ / 1-)

Bethe, Wigner, Fermi and other people who won Nobel Prizes for the invention of nuclear energy.

I am however used to small minded brats who have no idea of what any of these fabulous minds did issuing stupid rhetoric about what is and what is not a cult.

As usual, the squad of small minded brats who insist that nuclear energy, and only nuclear energy be perfect in their unenlightened shit hole of a universe or otherwise tens of millions of people can die from air pollution.

I have never met a single light weight fuck up who gives a rats ass about the 90 million people who died from air pollution while they cried insipidly about Fukushima.

As for your very stupid remark about "fast building" of renewables, the fact is that by simple reference to the EIA website, one can learn that 60 years of expensive wishful thinking from the "renewables will save us" cults has lead to a solar industry that produced just 0.2 exajoules of the 510 exajoules of energy humanity consumed last year.

Here's the EIA website's data for solar energy:

Solar Energy production on the entire planet.   You see the figure for solar + wave combined.   It's 31.2 billion kWh

Here's the electricity demand for the entire planet.

        20,225.284 billion kWh.

        Any idea what 31.2/20,225.3 is?

No?   Why am I not surprised?

Nuclear energy, despite being shat upon by scientifically illiterate faith based shit-for-brains types who have remained blissfully unaware of the contents of science books in their over long lives, produced according to the EIA 2,620.217 billion kWh.

        Any idea what 2620.2/20,225.3 is?

Can't do that either?   No surprise there either.

Now.   The lightweights in the scumbucket solar cults in general can't do math, and they can't think very well either.

They are so fucking stupid or such fucking liars, that they insist, as late as 2013, one year after the second worst year in human history for the accumulation of carbon dioxide on this planet that a system that produces just 0.1% of the planet's electricity almost 60 years after it's invention can be built faster than a system that produces 13% of the world's electricity.

The first solar cell was invented in 1954, three years before the US built its first nuclear plant.   It's pretty fucking clear to anyone but the most pathetic idiot that for the last 59 years, the nuclear industry has been built more than 100 times faster than the fucking useless solar industry.    And mind you, this is while illiterate brats the world over have been cheering for, and throwing hundreds of billions of dollars, euros, yen and yuan at the solar industry while seeking to shut the world's largest, by far, source of climate change gas free energy.

And then...you can't make this up...they want to call the supporters of the science of Seaborg, Wigner, Bethe and Fermi "cultists."

There are two billion fucking people on this planet who have never seen or operated a flush toilet, and the "renewables will save us cults" can't fucking look at the data, and still insist on sending hundreds of billions of dollars year after year to build the equivalent of 3 small gas plants, except the solar plants need gas plants to back them up because of something called "night."

        Ever hear of "night?"

        No?

        Well then.

The fact is that the renewable faith based fantasy is a fig leaf for the dangerous fossil fuel industry.   It sucks wealth out of the poor, puts in the hands of the rich, who in turn produce nothing.

Now, let's make something very clear.

The hatred of nuclear energy is an effort to kill people, since every nuclear plant that has been shut by the fear, ignorance and superstition - as well as the above obviated lack of even remote mathematical sense - has been replaced by dangerous fossil fuels or renewable biomass, which between them, again, kills 3.3 million people per year.

That's about 90 million dead in the last 3 decades, not that the dumbells in the anti-nuke dogma squad give a fuck about any one of these 90 million dead, any more than they give a fuck about the 200,000 deaths from the largest energy disaster of all time outside of the ongoing disaster of air pollution and climate change:   The the "renewable" energy disaster at Banqiao in 1975.

It's always nice, though, to see an anti-nuke demonstrate how badly informed they are about, well, everything and to demonstrate irrefutably the depth of the moral and intellectual pits in which they conduct their useless and worthless lives.

        Have a great evening, genius.

        •  So your entire argument is based around the fact (0+ / 0-)

that we don't have enough alternative power sources RIGHT NOW!!!  Oh god.  Except, how long does it take to build nuclear power plants?

As for your very stupid remark about "fast building" of renewables, the fact is that by simple reference to the EIA website, one can learn that 60 years of expensive wishful thinking from the "renewables will save us" cults has lead to a solar industry that produced just 0.2 exajoules of the 510 exajoules of energy humanity consumed last year.
You must live in a magical world where we spent more on solar than we did on nuclear.  Please, show me that world, because it sure as hell ain't this one.
I didn't realize that how much we have built is an indicator of how much we can build.  I'd note that at no point did you address any issues I brought up.  All you have is insults and invective and one minor math problem.  Sure, we don't have a lot of solar right now, but you ignore that the reason for that is that we haven't invested in it.  A nuclear plant will take about 20-26 billion to build.  How much solar can we get for that?  Show me the damn numbers.  I've asked before and you can't do it. Nor can you show me that your magical nuclear energy will actually be able to replace more carbon than other non-nuclear sources.  All you can do is rant about how I'm evil incarnate.
        •  And to answer your question. (0+ / 0-)
          Any idea what 31.2/20,225.3 is?
          Yes, yes I do.

Of course, you knew that I could figure that out fairly easily. You're just interested in insulting people.
