    to pay for grad school and have been a good tipper and patient, tolerant client ever since.

    I do wonder how Americans might learn better manners and etiquette. TV sets a poor example.

    A taxi driver once told me that people take out their bad feelings on service workers like taxi drivers, wait staff, etc. because they themselves are abused at work but can't talk back to the boss. . . . . Or they just plain have bad feelings and take it out on strangers. . . . .

    I suppose that's one way to protect your family. . . .

    May the Apple bee's waitress become a union organizer!
