    ...but I do fear - it IS Georgia after all.  I truly want to believe that he's one of these House nuts - who can win in his little district till the cows come home, but will be TOO nuts statewide...  But then I think, it's Georgia.

      If the GOP nominates somebody who's not flaming batshit crazy, he (or especially she, Karen Handel) will win easily.

      Even if the GOP nominates somebody who is flaming batshit crazy, he or she still has a better-than-even chance of winning.

      For the Dems to win, we need all three of the following:

      1. GOP nominates a flaming batshit crazy person.

      2. Dems nominate a great candidate.

      3. We get a little lucky.

        And a fourth consideration is that Democrats actually campaign.  I'm optimistic about the long run in Georgia (2016 and afterward) but without a string of good things happening I think 2014 will continue to be a GOP year here.

        I hope I'm proven wrong, though.
