    costs about as much as a McDonald's coffee a day for two months. E-books are generally cheaper than print books, and are certainly environmentally preferable. Any works in the public domain are free or practically free. I got the complete works of Mark Twain for $2.99.

    If you can't afford a Nook, the only way you'll do much reading is at the public library - an institution that I support, BTW.

      Your personal anecdote about owning a commonly owned, low price consumer electronic makes you a tool of the 1% apparently.

      BTW I love my Kindle and would never give it up.
