(my hmo will deliver refills free of charge, but only  via USPS) I know a few seniors and housebound folks for whom this is a critical lifeline.

Parcels are still being delivered on Saturdays. Unless your meds come in a 1 oz envelope.

was actually in the context of the long agonizing and inevitable (according to adolph) death of the postal service if/when the republicans have their way with it.

        k?

    •  I receive outpatient care at the Tampa VA Hospital (4+ / 0-)

Almost all of my twenty-seven Rx's are delivered by mail (USPS).  That is the system the VA uses.  Once in a while I can pick up a few days when I run out at their drive-thru (universal healthcare for veterans works much of the time).  I depend on my letter carrier (Sam) for many things.  My VA claims and corresondence for disability purposes are also by mail (USPS).  People forget that some systems are not magically up to date technology-wise.  Huge systems take time to change.  The right wing - private sector only fanatics are playing with fire.  Social Security (another huge government program) works too and provides income to so many people in my neighborhood.  God, what is wrong with effective and successful government policies and programs?
