My Sicilian grandmother always put it in spinach and on carrots, so I always do too. Also in any ricotta cheese pasta filling, like for lasagna or stuffed shells. Keep tasting -- it's a fairly delicate flavor, and it is possible to overdo it, but it makes a good addition to that stuff.

It's snowing pretty seriously here, so it's a good time to think about cooking. I have beef stew in the crockpot, and I am considering making some rice pudding as well. Hope you are having nicer weather in Prague!

I'm thinking that when I get a chance I'll try making a puff pastry with spinach/ricotta filling-- daintily dusted with nutmeg.

Rice pudding is something that my mother used to make fairly frequently. Leftover rice either went into ham fried rice or rice pudding-- I haven't had rice pudding in probably close to 30 years! Another good excuse to use some nutmeg!

I drove through a mini-blizzard today. Most of Prague didn't even know it happened. Now I'm out in the country and the ground is mostly bare, the hills around here have enough snow to ski on though. When I was out earlier it was a fairly clear night; did a bit of star gazing.
