    We are all screwed up.  In the end, if this continues, you're going to be forced into a position of deciding which is the more livable a job she may love or the pain.

    If there are not other solutions, as long as you want, you will chose to fight the pain.

    That's a human nature problem.  You cannot ask someone to live in pain longterm, it is bad for their mental health, it's bad for how they relate to people, it's a bad standard of living.

    I saw above the conversation about cordical stimulators.   I will admit, I have seen this work very positively for people so I would say even with opposition I would keep researching all the possibilities out there.

    Because the day will come where the debate between pain and work is going to tilt quickly to "just stop the pain".
