    and many opinions expressed. Back when I lived in Louisiana, it was simply accepted among much of the population that you dumped trash in the woods. At that time, there were no rural dumpsters; but still, it always galled me that people would haul their trash to someone else's property and express no regrets about it.

    Some areas have gotten better. For instance, the area where I used to manage timberland had very little trash, at least that I saw.

    But in the location where I took the above pictures, the dumping habit has been passed to the next generation, and it continues.

    On my visits to your island world, I do not recall seeing any rampant dumping. Community efforts definitely help.
