The most important thing to an actor is sincerity. If you can fake that you have it made.

If Booker was faking it, he has it made. As I said in the diary, he reminded me of Bill Clinton, who can turn it on and off at will. The Republicans used to make fun of that little hitch in Clinton's voice when he was overcome by emotion, but it was effective as hell.

Over a long campaign, voters really do get a sense of who these people truly are.

Clinton doesn't fake his emotion.  The reason he resonates so strongly is that at the moment he expresses his emotion, he truly feels the emotion.  It may not last long and it may not be his driving force, but at that moment, it's real.

My fear is that, after watching Booker (yes, I'm from NJ) for so long, I fear none of it is real, and that's what's showing through.

I can't argue with you. It looked and sounded real last night, but maybe the next time I would see it as just an act. Also, if I had heard him make lots of promises and never deliver, I would lose interest.

a little bit more, though.  I'll give it a try.  Between him and a Republican, I'd still vote for Booker.  Maybe I'm wrong.  As my husband says, it wouldn't be the first time.
