They have already lost. Scouts like my son who is 16 and an Eagle does not want to put that supposed honor on his college or job applications because the people reading them might thinks he hates gay people. His friends who are also Eagle Scouts feel the same way.

They are losing their newest generation of kids who have earned their highest honor and those kids do not value it. They will not go on to donate money or service to BSA. They will probably not have their kids participate because of the bigotry.

By the time BSA wakes up to this it will be too late, and the program will have to be rebuilt from the ground up. Unfortunately, the generation of men capable of doing it probably won't bother.

Right now district executives (paid positions) are under extreme pressure to make their annual fundraising drive successful. They go out into the community and ask for donations to "Friends of Scouting." The funds raised go directly to BSA. I would urge everyone to make a lot of noise about not donating to Friends of Scouting.

BSA doesn't care when they hear people refuse to donate to scouts raising money, that money goes to individual troops and kids. They care when people say they won't give to Friends of Scouting.

Since when is the party that embraces all the top tenets of Satan allowed to call the God shots?--wyvern
